Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been achieved on hard courts
A resurgent the Russian player claimed his first trophy for 882 days with success over opponent Moutet in the competition final.
The athlete, a ex- world number one, has experienced a torrid period, managing just one match at the major tournaments and experiencing a difficult moment at the American major.
His unpredictability on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serve in specific - led to him falling of the elite rankings and finally separating with former coach Gilles Cervara.
Presently training with his coach and his other coach, the tennis star has gradually advanced in the past month - culminating in a closely contested competitive victory over Frenchman Moutet.
This represents his first championship after the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard surface from March of 2023.
The win also signifies he has secured 21 titles at 21 various tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a tournament with my two daughters simultaneously, so to get a trophy is really nice," stated tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This victory is in honour of my child Victoria, because the first title I won when my child my daughter was born was for her."
The tennis star, the past champion, had lost his last six title deciders, including in Halle earlier this year.
His retrieving play style and frequent emotional displays on the tennis court had led commentators to question if his capacity to play at the top level was over.
But the 29-year-old has altered his approach in recent weeks, striving to come to the net and play assertively, supported by an improved service.
The champion fought back from a break down in the first set against the tricky Frenchman, securing 4 of the final five points to take the lead.
The pair swapped break points in the middle set before the challenger, attempting for his first ATP Tour victory, took control to force a third set.
Moutet defended four early-game opportunities in a competitive final set before Medvedev won the break to fifteen to secure the win.
Appropriately, he secured victory with a rally at the net area, with Moutet unable to manage a return after over two and a half hours.
